MIR Compagnie, Kaserne, Basel, 2016

High-tech cameras fill the stage with invisible fields and geometric shapes. Eight dancers, with urban, classical and contemporary backgrounds, cut through these interactive structures, their movements creating pulses, resulting in an immediate emergence of electronic sounds. Through the dynamics of dancing, every formation and the movements in space thus become a sound installation and music. DJ, multimedia artist and dancers create a musical and moving live setting, which synchronizes visual and auditory perception in the immediacy of the moment.

Software/Hardware
Processing, MaxMSP, Ableton Live, Kinect Camera

I developed software for live audio manipulation by the dancers. A series of SoundSpaces are created, invisible to the audience, which the dancers move through to trigger and distort sounds. This results in a unique soundtrack each performance. The control of the sounds by the dancer enables a freedom of expression.
